Can a baby sleep under a quilt?

Quilts are not recommended as sleep bedding for babies under 12 months. The Lullaby Trust advises avoiding soft or bulky bedding such as quilts, pillows and duvets during this stage. Our cot bed quilts are intended for use once a child has moved beyond the baby sleep stage and into a toddler or cot bed.
